Whoah! Things Are Moving Fast!

Hey guys (those that remain!), it's been awhile since I've been able to update here. Things have been getting pretty hectic in these parts, work is getting more and more difficult (but I still have a job so I'm keeping my fingers crossed), the relationship with the bf is getting better and better which makes me very happy, and artwork (while slow in the making) is getting to the point where I finally feel like I've hit a stride.

I've posted quite a few things to my Deviantart page as of late. Including one very awesome full color Adeline piece. At some point soon I'll try to get things up here. Until then, stay frosty!

Commission and Diagnosis!

I finally got the results from my blood work done a week or so ago, I've been officially diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism. It's not a great thing to have naturally, but it's nice to finally put a name on all the stuff going on lately. The symptoms are exactly what I've been experiencing. So now I'll be starting to take some medication to correct the levels and in about six weeks return to get another blood test and see where that goes.

I won't beg again, but it'd be nice to take in some more commissions to kinda offset the cost of the doctor visits and prescriptions because it's hitting my account hard and I have a lot of bills to take care of. And since my birthday is officially in a month, I've been trying to save up to do something nice.

On a Roll (At Least I Think So)

So I've really been concentrating on getting full pieces done lately. What with the stuff I posted last week and right now, I really think I'm getting better at this whole "art" thing. Still no commissions so I'm spending my free time with Jonathan Frakes watching Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction ,drawing my OCs, or with my boyfriend who is not Jonathan Frakes (but just as/even more awesome) :B Still no word on if I'm being laid off again, we'll find out once the tax deadline passes tomorrow.

Anyway, my crowning glories for the week! I've been working on the concept of a weird ass Aztec looking robot thing for years now, and I've finally colored a damn picture! Yay me! Anyway, feedback would be greatly appreciated as this is a new thing for me as to where my artwork is progressing.



And a piece that nearly brought me to tears illustrating it:


I wish I had more time to get the pages to their story out. It's killing me inside!

The Universe Is...

Made up of billions and billions and billions....

Of stuff other than stars. Like this pic I finished coloring today I thought was hilarious (I hate it when I laugh too much when I ink). Anyway, growing up my mom always encouraged us to watch shows that were stimulating (rather than wasting ALL of our precious attention span with Sailor Moon and what have you at the time) so Cosmos was always at the top of the list. I loved it to death (even named our oldest cat Sagan, who has a little star on her chest). But something about good old Carl always reminded me of something completely different. For awhile I couldn't place my finger on it, but then it dawned on me "It's KERMIT!"

...Or rather, Carl Sagan sounds like Kermit the Frog from the Muppet fame.

So for years I would joke with my mom about the similarity and for years she would always deny it. I dare anyone to listen to him speak and tell me he doesn't!

I drew this in retaliation so to speak :B

And because I haven't posted any sketches since the first day of the new year, I doodled a few things I thought came out pretty sweet. I've been so swamped/tired from my state jobs (back working at Tax again) that I haven't had the time to get everything up. I hope you all enjoy! And as always, commissions are always welcome!!

The First Sketchdump of the Year!

Haw haw haw She said dump *snickers*

As promised I've scanned in a bunch of stuff to compile for a New Year's post!

The first sketch is something specifically for the new year, and the second is a sketchdump I've been piecing together (mainly sketches and doodles from work and such as I hardly had any time recently to do much outside of my full time job and thumbs for the Adeline book).

In any case, I hope you guys enjoy them! As always I'm open for commissions if any of ya got some cash burning a hole in your pocket :D

It's That Time of Year...

...I start cranking up The Carpenters Christmas albums and work myself into a stupor. So far it's been an enjoyable month, I don't sit near the radio at work listening to "other" Christmas music (I loathe) and things have been quite nice in my personal life as of late, couldn't be happier. Dating does that to people I guess :3

On the art front I finished laying out the thumbnail images to the first Adeline book, just getting them onto proper layout pages so I can have Leanne and Rod Hannah take a gander (because their input and suggestions are valuable nuggets I will not part with!). Maybe then I might post some teaser images here to show off and get motivated to start the actual pages! It's all falling into place mwahaha-- err *ahem*

Anyway now to the part you guys come here for, the art. I drew this piece for the annual holiday cards I send out to friends, family, and clients. Usually I do fanart but this year has been all about the OC's so I took Adeline out for a spin with some owls in tow. I'm really with how everything turned out!

Anyway, I've got a few things lined up. I'll be working on a set of Shi cards for 5Finity Productions this month (well, as soon as I get the cards :D ) a commission I'm almost done coloring, and a Sariel piece that's almost done being colored as well. Other than that I could certainly use some commissions. I also added a "donate" button at the top of the blog for anyone willing to help a starving artist out. After this month I might being going back into panic mode as the job I'm at now will start layoffs soon and I don't have anything else lined up in the meantime.

But enough about that for now, think happy thoughts! (which reminds me... I need to do a Hook themed piece at some point)

Another Sketchdump!

It's been awhile since I just threw a bunch of stuff around here with no reason whatsoever than to bug you all. But I completely forgot to post one of my commissions and some sketches I had been working on in King Moleskine.

I wish I had the time to draw more shit at work! lol

We'll start off with a new OC I started working on earlier last week. There's a possibility I might be using her for the Adeline story I'm working on. Thanks to my buddy Zoé Chamoux, she's got a name! From henceforth she'll be known as Mashreen!

Obligatory Halloween Image!!!

Halloween is almost upon us and it's already snowing out! So I hunkered down and scribbled a Halloween themed piece with my OC's Sariel and Adeline.



I'll be quitting my job at Lane Bryant soon so I can keep my weekends free to use on working on my commissions. Not that they use me much anyway, but they keep calling me in on days I thought I was off. *UGH*

Anyway, I have a few commissions in progress that I can't wait to post! Stay tuned!

And the Story Continues!

I know I don't have a whole lot of people following this thing, but I'm still gonna apologize for the length of time it's taken me to get more posts up. I recently lost my internet connection at my apartment so I'm kinda dying from the fact that I can't haunt my websites as often anymore. Posts are really few and far between! D:>

However, progress on my project about Adeline is gaining momentum. I already have the first 12 pages already thumbed out and more are on the way. The next step is to finally get the actual pages off the ground! While that's underway I've been working on a ton of other images so kind of get all my ideas onto paper, it's crazy the amount of stuff is coming out! So I'm going to dump a few of the pieces I've been working on here, I'm very happy with what's being produced so far! Let's hope the trend continues!

The greed and decadence spewing from this image is overwhelming! But I'm seriously in love with it, I've never done anything this complex ever! But Sariel is worth the trouble!


This is the colored version of a pic I posted awhile ago. I can't wait to draw more of this "Queen" like character (and her minion!)


I drew this on Tuesday in a fit of madness without having the internet up. I just got home from the bookstore and decided that I looked at enough books about monsters to get inspired myself! I haven't drawn an image of Adeline starting out, in a position of tired determination. So here you go!

A Little Bit of Adeline

As promised I finally scanned in a few things to tide the blog over for awhile lol
I still have a ton of sketches in one of my sketchbooks I need to dig out. But that's for later :D
Mainly it's pieces for a book I'm currently trying to piece together with Rod Hannah. I'm so excited about it that I even set up a group on Deviantart for it called Of Fembots and Flappers!

So let's begin!

And a couple of Moleskine books I customized. I am taking commissions for these as I have a few books left to draw on so if anyone is interested shoot me an e-mail!

Sketches on the Way!

I know it's been a little bit, and things have been pretty hectic on my end but I do have a TON of stuff I gotta scan and post here!
But I do have some great news! I got a gig doing a set of sketchcards for a pretty high profile set for 5Finity Productions (more info to come after October!), but all I can say is HOLY CRAP I DIDN'T HAVE TO BEG FOR A JOB! Secondly I will be starting to develop my OC Adeline's story for a webcomic type thingy, details are still being ironed out but it's already sounding like a badass project. Rod Hannah will be working with me to make Adeline's world a reality and it's gonna be awesome! I need to be able to beef up my sequential art portfolio so I'm excited!

Lastly, if you happen to be on Deviantart go and check out my new group dedicated to my OC's Of Fembots and Flappers! I'd love to see more people watch the group because who knows what I might post there and not here!

Anyway, time to get some work done and I'll be back in a bit to post some sketches!!

Made a New Friend!!!

And I mean both Sariel and myself! lol
I've been in kind of a funk recently getting motivated to draw more stuff, and last week I started talking to one of the members of my Electrolust art group on Deviantart whose work I admired,Calicot. Well long story short (and over 200 doodles exchanged) Sariel has a new BFF in the form of Augustine, who is every bit as cruel and evil and fembot-ish. We're still gushing over our works mutually, and still drawing more random stuff. You can see more in her gallery (and more stuff about Augustine and Sariel as well). I'm currently editing the doodle fest we had in my spare time. Over 200 images to go through!

OC Sketchcards!

I decided I wanted to make a set of inked sketchcards for myself just so I can stretch out and work on improving my inking skills. I was cranking Bach in the background as I drew and I think it helped! D:

Of Sketches and Cybermen

Back again for another round of tossing sketches on this here blog for the enjoyment of the few :B But those few get to enjoy the stuff I won't post on Deviantart (since I'd clutter up the place!)
This time we have a sketch commission I just finished of Ace and Jack Harkness fighting a Cyberman (80's) from Doctor Who.


And some sketches I did while I was waiting to go to work (usually when I do my best sketches!) I might color these two in at some point, just to keep my promise to color every page of that Moleskine book I started.

The first sketch on here is of a woman I thought up of when bored out of my mind working at the Tax Department. She's supposed to have flames for hair and all that jazz. And natrually I couldn't have a page without one of the characters from the Dommi project I'm working on Claud, being mopey and moody :B

Playing Catch-Up

Not too long now until I start scanning in a new batch of sketches. Until then I have a few to go up now. I'm picking and choosing really, some are old but I love them and wanted to give them a chance to be seen.

First up is a sketch I did with a few of my original characters Nan the Priest and Adeline the Barbarian Flapper (don't you just love the sound of that? :B )


Next is a costume design I did for Adeline. I'm coming up with a metric shitload of headdresses for her to wear...


This is one of my favorites. My friend Zac sent me some help a few weeks back and I drew this for him as a thank you. It's of my gal Sariel and his character Anne Hedonia squishing the ever lovin' life out of Johnathon the cat <3 You can see the rest of Zac's work here.
